Wethers In Short Supply
The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following advice from its London office as at close of business last week :—Wethers are in short supply until the next arrivals. Trade in ewes is irregular. The market for lambs is steady and no material change is expected yet. There is a fair demand for chilled beef. Current prices are:— Wethers: Light. sd. to 5 7-Sd. a lb.; heavy. 4}<l. to 4 7-Bd. Ewes. 2:|il. to 4d, Lambs: 2’s, 7«d. to 73d.; S’s. 7 3-Bd. to 74d.; 4’s. 7d. to 7 1-Sd.; seconds, 7i<l. t<? Chilled hinds, sd. to 53d.; fores. 3J(I. to 3?d. M.L.C. Bonuses The with-profit ordinary branch policyholders of tlie Mutual Life and Citizens’ Assurance Co.. Ltd . have now received their bonus certificates for the year 1937. The company has allotted for the year reversionary bonuses amounting lo £1,174,000.
