Magistrate’s Observations Dominion Special Servicf Auckland, May 25. “Pedestrian crossings offer the om.protection jiedestrian.s get in ci:., streets, and it is my duty to protect thy public against motoring Wl'ender-t' said Mr. J. Hewitt, S.M., in the MagH Dates’ Court, when two motorists were each fined £3 and costs for failing io give way at pedestrian crossings iu Queen Street. “The rights of pedestrians usiiig crossings must be observed, the magistrate added. Motorists who disregard regulations and drive over crossings, scattering pedestrians right and lelt, are not to be tolerated.”
