Alay 25. 9'he New Zealand Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Distributing Co. reports on the Pahiatua weekly wale held on Tuesday, Its share of Hie yarding consisted of 3664 sheep, 40 bead of dairy stock and 20 pigs, and with the exception of four pens of wethers a total clearance at ruling market rates was made. Some very choice wethers were yarded and the top price realised was 27/6 for a particularly nice pen of four-tooths. Lambs sold well, the top price paid for w.f.w. lambs in good forward condition being 19/1. Good quality ewes made a good figure, while poorer ewes were somewhat neglected. The sale to begin with was very erratic on wethers. Quite a number of pens were passed in at auction but were sold later in the day. Quotations are:— Pen of 410 two-tooth wethers 24/-: 100 two-tooth wethers 23/6; 185 fat and forward two-tooth wethers 24/10; 165 two-tooth wethers 23/7; 31. two-tooth wethers 23/3; 45 two-tooth wethers 24/-; 72 two-tootli wethers 24/7: 132 fat fourtooth wethers 27/6; 78 two-tooth wethers 24/-; 39 two-tooth wethers 24/-; 69 small two-tooth wethers 22/6; 55 forward two-tooth wethers 23/- I 30 forward wethers. small. 23/-; 51 two and four-tooth wethers 24/3: 100 w.f.w. lambs, good, 18/-; 74 w.f.w. lambs, forward, 19/.1 ; 148 b.f. and w.f. lambs, medium, 1.3/7; 66 w.f.w. lambs 1.7/3; 64 w.f.w. lambs, medium, 13/9; 70 b.f. lambs 17/-; 80 w.f.w. lambs, small, 11./-; 200 w.f.w. lambs, good medium. 16/8; -12 b.f. lambs, small, 13/1; w. lambs .13/3 to 13/9; b.f. lambs 13/1, small 1 !/•; SO two-tooth ewes r.w. S.D. rams, 37/6; m.a. owes r.w. S.D. rams, 30/- to 28/-; 70 four-year ewes r.w. S.D. rams, 26/-; five-year ewes r.w. S.D. rams 25/-. Springing dariy heifers £5/5/- to £7 Weaners 5/- to 1.7/-. Dalgoty and Co. had a largo offering of sheep and a small yarding of dairy cattle. Practically a total clearance was effected under the hammer. 9'he increased values noticed at the sale n fortnight previously wore more than maintained. Ridding was restricted on the cattle, but. a satisfactory clearance was effected. A pen of very heavy prime wethers offered aecount McCarthy Estate ninde the top price of the day in this section of 28/-; a particularly attractive line of four, five and sixyea r ewes r.w. S.D. ranis, account 9,’urner Bros.. T’ori. 30/-: line of age marked five-year ewes account Mr. .1. J. Sorensen, Rakanui, 25/6; pen of forward conditioned w.f. wether iambs, 19/-; pen of similar b.f. lambs 17/1. Sold in conjunction with the other auctioneering companies, a line of 200 strong, healthy liill-eountry w.f.w. lambs offered by Mr. J. G. Woodhouse made 16/8. Quotations: Heavy prime wethers 25/to 28/-: forward two and four-tooth wethers 22/10; four, five and six-year ewes r.w. S.D. rams, 30/-; five-year ewes, r.w. R. ranis, 25/-: one-year ewes, r.w.
