Dominion Special Service. Masterton, May 25. At the weekly Masterton stock sale to-day the New Zealand Loan aud Mercantile Agency offered a. very good yarding of sheep and cattle. Fat sheep came forward in increased numbers, resulting in a considerable easing in prices, particularly for fat ewes. Store sheep were in good demand at late rates. A total clearance was effected as follows: —

Fat sheep: Medium fat wethers. 25/1 to 25/9: light, 24/--to 24/6; good fat ewes, 22/-; medium, 18/- to 20/-; light, 16/6 to 17/1 ; fat b.f. two-tootbs, 24/-; fat lambs, 20/6 to 24/-.

Store sheep: Ewe lambs, 18/6 to 20/-; w.w. lambs. 15/2 to 17/-; medium, 12/6 to 14/-: b.f. lambs 13/6 to 14/6; store ewes. 13/- to 13/6. Cattle: Fat P.A. heifers, £7/10/- to £B/10/-; fat r.A_. eows, £6/15/- to £8 4/-; vealers, £2/2/-; P.A. cows, r.w. P.A. ■bull, £4/4/-; Hereford, £3/19/-; forward P.A. bullocks, £lO/15/-; 20-months S.H. steers, £7/2/- to £7/3/-; steers, £7/16/- to £8: empty station heifers, £4/2/-; dairy heiffrs, r.w.b., £3 to £5 15/-; cows in milk, £4/10/- to £5/10/-. Pigs: Porkers, 34/6; slips, 20/6; good weaners. 14/-. An overflow yarding of fat sheep, a good entry of store sheep, and a small yarding of cattle were offered by the New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Distributing Company. Passings were frequent in the fat section. Store sheep prices were firm. Some particularly choice lines of wether hoggets were penned and met with a ready sale. Prices were:— Sheep : Fat wethers, 22/- to 22/6; prime fat ewes. 18/6 to 22/9: lighter, 15/6 to 16/3; light fat lambs, 17/6; twotooth wethers, 22/6 to 25/-; small., 20/to 20/6: m.a. ewes. r.w. S.D. ram. 30/-; s.m. ewes. r.w. S.D. ram, 16/3; w.f.w. lambs, 15/6 to 17/"-; b.f. lambs, 12/- to 15/6; smaller, 13/6. Cattle: Fat eows, ex dairy. £4/15/-; store cows. £2/10/- to £3/15/-. Lines offered an.i prices realised by Dalgety and Co. were:— Sheep: Fat hoggets 24/6; heavy fat wethers 27/- to 27/6. light 24/6 to 25/9: fat b.f. wethers' 27/5; fat ewes 20/- to 21/6; medium woolly ewe hoggets 24/-; forward shorn,w.f.w. hoggets 20/2. sinall 13/- to 15/7: woolly w.f.w. hoggets 17/to 17/2; small w.f.w. hoggets 14/- to 15/2; e-mail woolly ewe hoggels 17/- to 17/2; b.f. hoggets 14/- to 15/2. . Cattle: 18-month P.A. steers, medium, £5/6/-; P.A. cows r.w. P.A. bull. £5/10/-. Wright, Stephenson ami Co. submitted a small yarding of sheep ami a good yarding of cattle. Realisations were :— Sheep: Heavy fat ewes to 23/6; fat ewes 20/- to 22/-; forward ewes 17/6 lo 18/7: shorn wether lambs tn 12/9; b.f. lambs, small. 8/3 to 10/7: small twotooth wethers lo 19/-: small two-tooth ewes to 20/-: store ewes lo 11/0., , Cattle: l‘'at cows £7/15/- to £B/5/-;
