Five People Injured At Rangiotu REMANDED FOR SENTENCE Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, May 10. After a retirement of four hours a jury of 12 in the Supreme Court, Palmerston North, to-day, found Erie Napier Davis, Palmerston North, guilty of negligently driving a car at Rangiotu on the night of January 16 last, causing bodily injury to five persons. He was remanded fur (sentence until to-morrow morning. 'The hearing of the ease lasted a day and a half. His Honour Mr. Justice Blair presided, Mr. 11. R. Cooper, Crown Prosecutor, conducted the proceedings fur the Crown, and Mr. G. Crossley appeared for Davis. . . The charge arose from a collision at Rangiotu. Two cars, one facing the other, were pulled up on the side of the road and the passengers were endeavouring _to locate a mechanical fault. While doing this the accused, driving from the direction of Foxton, drove into the rear of one of the stationary cars.
The injured were Messrs. C. S. Plank, J. B. Macdonald, L. B. Thompson. Mrs. Thompson and Miss E. H. Hill.
