Meeting' Of Wellington Executive The fortnightly meeting of the executive of the Wellington Basketball Association was held on Monday night, when Mrs. Symonds presided. There were also present Mesdamcs H. D. Muir. A. Muir, Tonks, Calder, Allen, Mclnnes, and Mistos Blake, Wharton. Mitchell, Daniell, McGoldrick, Frew, and Armstrong. The referees’ association wrote stating it had appointed Mr. Morris ami Misses Ruddell and McGuire to act on the committee for the discussion of international rules. After considering the scores put up by the Island Bay third-grade teain, both at the tournament and on the first competition day, it was decided that this team be graded senior B. An application from St. Joseph's thirdgrade team to be regraded to fourth grade was granted. The fifth grade junior raving drawn only two entries, these were put into fifth grade. There will be no fifth grade junior competition this your. The fourth grade has been dviided into five sections, and the remainder will form the fourth junior grade. A trophy was offered by Mr. Wallaston, and this was gratefully accepted by the association.

The mnuagemetn committee mentioned that nine emergency referees were required for each Saturday. A letter was received from the Wellington East Old Girls' club giving the names of a large number of their club members who would act in that capacity. It was decided to send a letter of thanks to this club for its loyalty and help.

The president congratulated Mrs. Mclunes. a member of the executive, on her appointment as a member of the New Zealand Sports Council. It was decided that, as several teams would not take the field when requested by the ground steward, ground stewards be authorised to abandon such games and report to the executive. It was also decided that in exceptional circumstances ground stewards be empowered to accept registrations and medical fee until the time of the match. Ground stewards will be given necessary forms to fill in by the captain.
