Hutt Club’s Open Tourney QUALIFYING ROUNDS
The weather was slightly disappoim ing yesterday for the opening of the Hute Ladies' 'Golf Club's open ciiampiouslnp tournament. A cold southerly, with mleimittent rain, made conditions rather un pleasant in the morning, when the hrsi qualifying round was played. J hough the course was in excellent condition, scoring was poor. Mrs. Crombie led the field in the morning with a steady 83. taking an Si for the afternoon rounds. ’The following players qualified for the championship:Mrs. Crombie. 83-87-170; Mrs. Nyilsum, SO-91-177; Mrs. Paterson. 92-81 -I <J: Mrs. Slater, 89-91-180; Mrs. Park. 91-89-180: Mrs. Foreman. 88-97,-183: Mrs. Cornaga, 95-89-1 SI; Mrs. l.atham, 88-97-ISS; Mrs. Pearce, 93-93-180; Mbs M. Following is the draw for the first round of the championship, to commence at 9 a.m. to-day—Mrs. Crombie v. -Mrs. Albertson, Mrs. Latham v. Mrs. Pearce. Mrs. Slater v. Miss B. Wilson. Mrs. Park v. Mrs. Welton Hogg, Mrs. Monkman v. Mrs. Foreman. Mrs. Ashe v. Mrs. Paterson, Mrs. M. Thompson v. Mrs. Cornaga. Mrs. Russell v. Mrs. Wilson.
The following players qualified for the Hutt handicap, and will play ofT on match play at 9.40 to-day :—Miss MacCaskill v. Mrs. Shroeder, Miss Wheeler v. Mrs. Farr, Mrs. Rogers v. Mrs. Monteith, Mrs. Lewis v. Mrs. Norman, Mrs. Chapman v. Mrs. Zacliariah, Miss M. Adams v. Mrs. Sherwood, Mrs. Duncan v. Mrs. E. Hogg, Mrs. Marshall v. Mrs. Prior.
The draw for the third medal, commencing at 10.20, is as follows: —Mrs. Hanson v. Miss Pearce. Mrs. Luke y. Mrs. Fleming. Mrs. Wiren v. Mrs. Millar, .Mrs. Rowe t. Miss E. M. Adams. Mrs. Fossey v. The draw for the afternoon bogey will be posted at.the clubhouse.
'The morning medal was won by Mrs. Crombie, 83-6-77, in the A division, and Miss McCaskill, 97-19-78. in the D division. The afternoon medal was won by Mrs. Paterson,' 87-1.2-75, in the A division, and Miss M. Pearce, 95-16-79, in the P. division.
