NEW OPERA HOUSE REVUE SHOW
Headed by that diverting comedian, Joe Lawman, the Stanley McKay Vaudeville Revue Company is proving popular with Wellington audiences at the New Opera House. The clever duettists, the Hilo,Duo, quickly find a place in public favour 1 with their presentation of popular tunes, and the pretty Heather Wright gives an exhibition of lithe contortionist dancing which merits high praise. The Fredo Brothers manage to manipulate violins while indulging in divers acrobatic feats,_ and pleasing harmony is the contribution of the Big Four, four singers and a piano. The members of this attractive quartet are also heard in individual items. Violin solos are given by the charming blpnde. Elvy, and Miss Wyn Edgerton is responsible for some splendid ballads with the ballet, which is quite up to standard, ami. with beauty and ability, puts the finish to the show. And of course Mr. Lawman never fails to please in the bright sketches and nonchalant fooling. Miss May Brooke directs the orchestra. “The Navy's in Town” will be presented for the last time to-night. The next revue will be “Indian Romance,” written and produced by Geo. Greig, which will have its premiere at the matinee to’ 1 morrow. An added attraction for to-morrow’s matinee is a clever musical and comedy act by Hal Browne and Renee Osborne, direct from the principal music halls and theatres in England. In addition, to foster Wellington talent, Mr. McKay has arranged for a number of Miss O’Leary's pupils to appear in several charming numbers.
