SEARCH FOR MISSING MAN
Tramping Club Assists Police
Twenty-two members of the Tararua Tramping Club assisted the police in a search of the hills about Makara on Saturday and Sunday for Herbert Langman Oliver, who has been missing from Mr. M. W. Prendeville’s farm, South Makara, since last Tuesday. The search was unsuccessful. A close search was made of all that part of the country which was thought worth searching in such a manner, but it is possible that Mr. Oliver walked further' afield, his footprints having been found five miles west of the farm. The missing man was employed as a farm hand bv Mr. Prendeville. He is a returned soldier about 48 years.of age, with brown hair going grey, blue eyes and is sft. 7in. tall. He left the farm wearing a dungarqe jacket, ' dark grey trouSers and gum boots. Ho has a pronounced stoop and his nose* appears to have been broken.
