WHIPPET RACING
North Island Titles Decided
The championship meeting of the Petone Whippet Racing Club was held at Hutt Park oh Saturday. A special plane was chartered to bring owners and dogs from Blenheim, but the pilot was compelled to turn back because of the conditions. The races resulted :— Nursery Handicap.—Mr. Jones’s Kohai, 1. Improvers’ Handicap.—First heat: Mrs. Nicholas’s Roamer Lassie,- 1; Mrs. T. Magee’s Electric Flash, 2. Second heat: Mr. Clark’s Big Dook, 1; Mr. Marshment’s Housemaster, 2. Third heat: Mr. Doyle’s--Rebel Lad, 1; Mr. Jones’s Defaulter, 2. Final: Rebel Lad, 1; Defaulter, 2, ,a, Open North Island Championship, Treweek Sash, —First heat: S. Marshment’s Flash Light, 1; Mrs. Nicholas’s El Kuno, 2. Second heat: Mr, Johnson’s Whero, 1; T. Magee’s White Flash, 2. Final: Whero, 1; El Kuno, 2. Lightweight Handicap.—Mr. Tripp’s Epsebud, 1; Mr. Doyle’s Miss Hushabye,
