SHANGHAI ASSAULT

British Protest Made (Received April 5, 1.50 a.m.) , Shangliai, April 4. The British Consulate-General has protested against the assault on Messrs. Monk and Dosremedios. A message from Shanghai published yesterday stated that two British subjects, Mr. W. M. Monk and Mr. C. J. Dosremydios, were hauled from a stationary motor-car and kicked, punched and bitten by two Japanese civilians, inside the Japanese-controlled section of the Settlement:-
