Explosion In College Laboratory Severe injuries to the left eye wer§ received by Marcus Poole, a schoolboy, when an explosion occurred in one of the laboratories at Wellington College yesterday afternoon. The boy, who lives with his parents, Mr. and Mbs. W. H. Poole, at 23 Everest Street, Khandallah, was taken to hospital, his eye pierced by a fragment of fiying glass. He will be operated on this morning. It is understood that an experiment involving hydrogen gas was being conducted by the master before the class, when the glass container exploded. It was stated thatJPoole was sitting furthest from the experiment.
