Wellington.— Cloudy in the morning with a light northerly breeze. It cleared in the afternoon, and the breeze turned to south-east. Waipukurau.— Dull in the early morning but afterward bright and sunny; maximum temperature 75deg. Napier and Hastings.— Dull and overcast in the morning, but beautifully fine during he afternoon. Temperatures wram. Auckland.— Dull and cloudy with a light ■wind from the east. The maximum temperature was 76deg. The barometer was high and fairly steady, the reading at 5 p.m. being 30.29 in. The barometer was fairly steady and read 30.29 in. at 5 p.m. Dunedin.— Pleasantly warm, the sun shining for the greater part of the morning and portion of the afternoou. A light north-easterly breeze scarcely affected the temperature, which stood at 63deg. at midday. The barometer reading dropped from 30.40 in. in the morning to 30.31 in. at noon, and then began a gradual rise.
