CLAIM BY SELASSIE

English Court Has No Jurisdiction London, March 23. Mr. Justice Bennett, delivering judgment in the-Chancery Court in the suit in which the former Emperor of Abyssinia, Haile Selassie, claimed £10,013 from Cables and Wireless, Ltd., allegedly due under an agreement which the company contended concerned whoever was the Sovereign in Ethiopa, regretted that he had no jurisdiction to decide the question, and ordered Selassie to pay the costs. The Italian Government, which was asked if it would accept the decision of the English Court, replied that it claimed the money itself and was not prepared to admit that its rights were in any way in doubt.
