British Naval Estimates (From “The Dominion,” March IS, 1913.) Mr. Winston Churchill, First Lord of the Admiralty, introduced the Naval Estimates in the House of Commons. The estimates total £46,309,300, an increase of £1,234,900 over last year’s vote, which was a decrease of £307,100 on the preceding year. It is proposed to spend ,*on new construction £15,063,877. The new vessels will comprise five battleships, eight light armoured cruisers, 16 destroyers, and a number of submarines. * * * Oxford University beat Cambridge in the annual boat race by three-quarters of a length.
