Dunedin, March 9. Only a few pens of outstanding bullocks were above recent parity at the Burnside stock sale to-day when 304 head of eattle were submitted. Hie qualitv generally showed little improvement. 'There was’a slight easing at the commencement, prices remaining steady tor the remainder of the sale. Extra prime heavy bullocks brought to £l9/17/6, prime t 0 light an<j medium £</2/6 to £9/l_/6: prime heavy cows and heifers £B/7/6 to £lO/17/6, medium and light £6/2/6 to £7/12/6. 'l'he price per 1001 b. showec little variation on that: of a week ago and extra prime bullocks may be quoted at £l/14/-, prime £l/12/-, prime cows and heifers £l/12/-. and lighter sorts £l/2/-. Best steers in the store eattle pens brought late values, the best going to £8 17/6. , Jn the fat sheep pens 2611 were forward. and with the unusually large supply t'he market opened easy on recent parity There was a further easing toward - the end of the sale. Prime heavy wethers made to £l/10/9, prime £l/6/to £l/8/3, medium and light £l/1/- to £1 4/6; prime heavy ewes to £l/0/3. prime 16/- to 17/6, medium and light 12/- to of 1200 fat lambs was offered. They were of similar quality to those seen at recent sales and brought prices equal to late rates. Prime heavy lambs realised to £l/8/6, prime £l/o/- to £1 6/3. medium £1 to £l/2/3, light and unfinished 15/- to 17/3. . The yarding of fat pigs totalled 162. porkers being in the majority. These found a ready market, but baconers, though in short supply, were not wanted and eased in value.
