LABOUR VIEW

Political Situation Of Utmost Gravity London, February 22. The National Council of Labour has called a conference of the general council of the Trade Union Council and the national executive of the Labour Party to discuss the political situa tion. The council states that it views the events leading to Mr. Edon’s resignation as of the utmost gravity. The executive of the League of Nations Union passed a resolution expressing dismay at the loss of Mr Eden as Foreign Secretary, and states that the circumstances were creating the impression that it was due to foreign hostility to the League. His Majesty received Mr. Anthony Eden, who handed over the seal of office of Foreign Secretary. The Anglo-Irish talks have been postponed.
