HOCKEY MEETING
Wellington Association Preparations for the commencement of the hockey season were discussed at a meeting of the Wellington Hockey Association last night. Members expressed the view that every attempt should be made to arouse interest in the visit of the Indian hockey team to New Zealand this year, and the New Zealand association is to be given every assistance in an endeavour to make the tour a successful on?. The team will be leaving India in about five weeks. A letter was received from the Hutt Valiev Hockey Club expressing the thanks of the club for the manner in which the association conducted the competitions and generally controlled the affairs of hockey during the last season. The association decided to grant permission for the formation of a club at Miramar to be known as the Knox Rangers. The colours of the club will be orange and black, consisting of a plain orange shirt and black shorts. ( The club is being formed by the Knox Presbyterian Young Men’s Bible Classes, Miramar, and it is intended that it will field a third grade team. It was agreed that the colours for the Wellington College teams will consist of a black jersey with a five-inch gold band over the left shoulder, white shorts and black stockings with gold tops.
The annual meeting of the association is to be held on March 23.
