Wellington.—Another warm, clear day, ■ with a light southerly breeze. Minimum temperature, Tuesday night, 56 deg. Maximum yesterday, 72.5 deg. At 3.30 p.m. 69.7<1eg., and barometer 30.32 in. Palmerston North.—Fine and sunny with scattered clouds and a northerly breeze. Temperatures still high. Masterton. —Overcast and threatening in morning. Bright sunshine in afternoon. Moderate south-easterly breeze. Wanganui.—A hot summer day, with brilliant sunshine and a light southerly breeze. Slight swell on Wanganui bar. At 4 p.m. the barometer was steady at 30.32 i n. New Plymouth.—Warm and sultry, with sunshine and hazy passing clouds. Barometer at 5 p.m., 30.20 in. Waipukurau.—Fine and warqigr, with g_unshinc at intervals in the afternoon, but still much cloud. Temperature 71deg. Napier and Hastings.—Sunny and very warm in the morning; overcast in the afternoon. A south-west wind. Auckland. —Cloudy but fine and warm, the wind being fresh from the east. The maximum temperature was 76deg. Barometric pressure was high and steady at 5 p.m., reading being 30.23 in. Christchurch. —Fine and sunny with a fresh north-east breeze. The maximum temperature was 68de_g. The barometer fell slightly and the reading was 30.35 in. at 5 p.m. Dunedin. —The sun shone without interruption yesterday for a total of 14 hours 45 "minutes, the longest period of sunshine for one day this summer. The temperature .reached a maximum of 75deg., only a slight north-east breeze being recorded, of insufficient force to qffect the temperature. The barometer was steady at a little over 30.40 in. and tended to rise in the evening.
