FINAL GALLOPS
New Plymouth Tracks / Dominion Special Service. New Plymouth, February 2. Candidates for to-morrow’s meeting were given their final gallops at New Plymouth this morning. The going was in splendid order after heavy rain yesterday afternoon and should bo in perfect condition for the races to-morrow. All fast work was done on the outside of the course proper. Clessamor easily disposed of Brilliancy over five furlongs in 1.4 4-5. Stretto was not asked to do her best to sprint three furlongs in 38 3-5. She hit put freely. Relative pleased in covering five furlongs in 1.4 4-5. ' She was travelling nicely- at the finish and it was a useful effort for a hack. Icing was going better than Scarf Dance at the end of half a mile in 52 3-5, a good gallqp. Icing w-ent most attractively. y Sudan had something in reserve alongside Supler at the close of three furlongs in 40 2-5. Sudan is a very bold mover. A Captain Buusby two-year-old who will race in the Juvenile Handicap on Saturday-sprinted down the straight. Airing bowled home the last couple of furlongs of a round in 24 1-5. The only effort on the trial grass was by Cletrac, who ran the last three furlong of easy work in 40. He is in fine shape. The cup favourite, Wildflower, earned further admirers by a fine gallop over a mile in 1.47 1-5. She was assisted over the last five furlongs by Bing Boy, the distance taking 1.6. Wildflower has come through her recent racing in splendid order. This .was a good gallop under the conditions and Bing Boy shaped well for a hurdler. .Siam ran five furlongs at a working gallop pace in 1.M.. Ohanga finished solidly over five furlongs in 1.7 1-5. Lady Kyra, who did very solid pace work yesterday, wag let off with an easy five furlongs in 1.7. A decision has not yet been reached: concerning the race in which she will start. Lexden and Majority were given barrier practice, both leaving the mark satisfactorily. Silver Gift ran half a mile in 54 '3-5. Although she will be having her first start, this mare is a possibility in the maiden event to-morrow. Bonny Glow was not extended during the early part of a mile, but finished solidly to run the last five furlongs in 1.8. Dancing Lady opened up a break on Drathula at the start of half a mile and was clear at the finish in 53 2-5. Rage Call and Winsome Lu were on termg at the finish of half a mile in 53 1-5, after Winsome Lu had swung out very wide into the straight. Winsome Lu is again galloping well, for she had a welterweight in the saddle. Qiatory. Brunhild, Surmount, Great Hope, Sergia, Noisy Night and Jean Quex jyere visitors out doing light exercise. Arrivals from the north this morning included the cup' candidates, Cheval de .Volee. and Sinking. Fund. Taitoru was scratched from the cup at 10.15 this morning, and Joe Louis from the Taranaki Plate at 1 o’clock this afternoon. Additional riding engagements are:—• C. Thomson, Cletrac; K.
