B. C. William, Duppa Street, Berhampore, had his right index finger severed yesterday when it was caught under a truck wheel. The accident occurred at about 4.30 p.m., and he was taken from Weka Street, Miramar, to hospital by the Free Ambulance. ■When he fell three feet yesterday C. R, Petrie, Mart Avenue, Lower Hutt, fractured his left ankle. The accident occurred at 8.30 a.m. at his home, and he was taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance.
