Hawke’s Bay Attractions
Hawke’s Bay lawn tennis clubs, with five tournaments in three weeks, are providing excellent tennis holidays for visitors The tournaments are: Hastings, December 27 to 29; Napier, Hawke’s Bay championships, Deember 30 and 31 and January 1; Dannevirke, January ■; to 8; with Waipawa and Waipukurau iournaments to follow. Entries for the Hastings tournament close to-morrow with the hon. secretary, Mr. J. B. Wilson, Box 237, Hastings, and excellent entries are being received. D. C Coombe, the present Lew Zealand singles champion, who recently returned from England, will be competing and will be partnered with J. N. Lowry in the men’s doubles. Entries have been received from Auckland, Wanganui, Wellington and Taranaki, and with leading Hawke’s Bay players competing some very good tennis should be seen.
