HOSPITAL LOAN
Does Not Cover Total Cost
Of Equipment
In answer to a question yesterday as to whether the £750,000 which it is proposed to raise for the new hospital building at Wellington would cover the cost of furnishings and equipment for I he building, the chairman of the hospital board, Mr. J, Glover, said that the loan money would not be sufficient to cover all the cost of furnishings. There were certain furnishings which it would be necessary to provide out of the hospital maintenance fund; some of the furnishings, such as beds, were available at the hospital at the present time.
When questioned as to the probable amount which would be necessary to cover the cost of furnishing and equipment not provided for in the loan proposals, and not already available at the hospital, Hr. Glover said that he had no idea, but he expected that several thousands would be needed.
