But Teachers Unaware Of It Dominion Special Service. Hastings, December 15. Efforte to trace a boy who acquired a number of pairs of binoculars from oblix* ing citizens are being made by the headmasters and teachers of a number o Hastings schools. It is understood that the boy, who is believed to be over primary school age, some time ago called at a number of bouses and asked for the loan of a pair of binoculars on behalf of teachers of various schools, who, he said, wanted them in connection with nature study. In many eases the boy’s request was granted, some of the victims, anxious to oblige the teacher, even borrowing binoculars from a neighbour. With the close of the school year requests from the lenders for the return of the binoculars naturally surprised the teachers to whom applications were made. They of course knew nothing about them. Efforts to trace the borrower of the binoculars so far have been unsuccessful, but. it is understood that several pairs have been recovered from under hedges.
