A New Zealander Abroad

Dr. Elizabeth Bryson has received interesting letters from her daughter Mary, who has begun her medical studies at St. Andrews, Scotland. She is living at University Hall, the residential hall for women students, and Is fascinated by St. Andrews. She says it is so beinitiful and so different and she loves the scarlet gowns that the students wear. Among the New Zealand people that she hips met in England and Scotland is Airs. Summerville, who lived in AA’ellington for many years until the death of lic*r husband, the late Professor D. Al. Y. Summerville, of Victoria University College. Mrs. Somnierville. who is an old student of St. Andrews, is living there and at her home Miss Bryson met a fellow student, Mr. Jordan, son of the High Commissioner for New Zealand. Before going to Scotland for the opening of the university session in October, Aliss Bryson spent some time in London, and there she saw a good deal of her olfl school friend. Aliss Pamela Pigeon, who has been living in London with her mother for about two years. Together they enjoyed Shakespeare in Regent’s Park, and a number of other nlays. Aliss Pigeon is now studying at the London School of Economies.
