Hubbard —Ferguson
A verv pretty wedding was solemnised at the Methodist Church, Masterton, recently, when Frances Edna Ferguson, only daughter of Mrs. G. McKay and the late Mr. J. W. A. Ferguson, was married to William Wi'lis Hubbard, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. T. P. Hubbard, Upper Plain, Masterton. The bride, who entered the church with her step-father, Mr. G. McKay, wore a gown of parchment chiffon over taffeta, draped with classic simplicity and falling in graceful folds from‘van dyke shirring to form a train. Her flounced tulle veil was worn with a circlet of real orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of roses. Her attendants were Mrs. 0. McKenzie, matron of honour, Miss A vice Petersen, Miss Jean McKenzie, cousins of the bride, and Merilyn Ferguson. Brisbane, niece of the bride. They were dressed alike in frocks of champagne silk net trimmed with tiny bands of satin and forget-me-nots, and also wore silk net veils, held in place with clusters of rosebuds, and carried shower bouquets of roses.
The bridegroom was attended by Mr. E. Welch. Wairoa, as best man, and by Mr. G. Rutherford, and his brother, Mr. A. Hubbard, Pahiatua. The ushers were Mr. D. Carmen and Mr. A. Andrew. . „ A reception was held at “Birdwood, the home of the bride’s parents at Masterton. Mrs. G. McKay received her guests in an ensemble of wedgewood blue georgette trimmed with grey fur. and a toque of blue lace. She carried a posv of blue pansies. Assisting her was Mrs. A. T. P. Hubbard, in a frock of black lace over satin, with accessories to tone. When the bride and bridegroom left on their honeymoon, Mrs. William Hubbard was wearing a tailored costume of Windsor blue, with a small blue hat and gloves, shoes and handbag to match. Their future home will be at Tapanui, Otago.
