ST. MARY'S GUILD
Miss Parlane Resigns
The final meeting of the year of St. Mary’s Guild was held on Tuesday at the Diocesan Rooms, Mulgiave Street. As Mrs. Frederic Wallis was absent on holiday, Miss E. M. Barber, vicepresident of the guild, occupied the chair. Miss Parlane, head matron, reported that the health of all the children was excellent. The guild is very grateful to the Rotary Club for a donation ; also to the oflieials of the Resort e Bank for a Hallowe'en party and special tea for all the children; and to tire junior pupils of Marsden Girls School for a parly and presents for all the little ones at Duncan Cottage. The guild also express thanks to many kind friends for donations of food aud clothing. . The resignation of Miss Larlaue, toi 35 years head matron and "mainstay” of the homes, was received with great regret. The guild members cannot express the gratitude they felt toward Mis s Parlane for her loyal services to the guild, and to. the hundreds of girls who have been under her care. She will be very hard to replace.
Floral georgette evening frocks are splendid for the holidays. They look attractive, they don't crush, and with the addition of a jacket there's an ensemble for any daytime party. Featured at Fashion House, Willis .Street. —Advl.
