“THE MESSIAH”

The third and final performance of the Royal Wellington Choral Union's 1937 season will be held in the Town Hall on Monday at 8 o’clock under the baton of Mr. Stanley Oliver. The work chosen is the ever-welcome Christmas oratorio, “The Messiah.” This year's performance will be the forty-first presentation of Handel’s masterpiece by the Royal Choral Union, and as Mr. Oliver always gives his choruses and orchestra a thorough training, a very successful wind-up of the present season is expected. Mr. L. Russell, Auckland, has been engaged to sing the tenor role; the soprano will bo Mrs. Evelyn Davies. Hawera; the contralto Mrs. Wilfred Andrews, and the bass Mr. C. Colledge.
