Webb Street Methodist Church Sunday School

At the Sunday school anniversary services of the Webb Street Methodist Church, Wellington, which were held year terday, a children’s choir consisting of the combined Sunday school and junior Bible classes was heard in a number of beautiful hymns specially chosen. from the lesser-known of the church’s wide range of praise songs. Burton, were two striking numbers —William Blake’s “Jerusalem” and John Bunyan’s “To Be a Pilgrim.” Features of the singing were the several descanted hymns. The morning service was conducted by the Rev. P. R. Paris, and a special afternoon service was led by the Rev. H. W. Newell, M.A. The Rev. O. E. Burton, minister of the church, conducted the evening service. Soloists were Doreen and Bernice Burton, Vera Fisher, Betty Greatbatch, Sheila Reece, and Fred Brewer. Accompanists were Mrs. <). E. Burton at the piano and Mr. John Woodley at the organ. An original play was performed by the primary girls under the direction of Miss K. D. Bartlett.
