SUSTENANCE FRAUDS

On three charges of making false declarations so as to obtain sustenance benefits, Joseph Michael, labourer, was convicted and fined £lO on one charge and £3 on the remaining charges by Mr. W. F. Stilwell, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court, 'Wellington,, yesterday. The total ainoupt of excess relief he obtained by these declarations was £lB/10/4. Alfred Ernest Swan, on two similar charges, was convicted and fined £7/10/on each.
