93 Delegates At National Party Meeting SELECTION OF CANDIDATE DEFERRED Dominion Special Service. Waipawa, November 26. Ninety-three delegates from 21 branches of the Waipawa electorate of the New Zealand National Party attended a meeting at Waipawa last night. In the absence from the district of the electorate chairman, Mr. C. G. E. Harker, the meeting was presided over by Mr. C. Pattison.

The chairman said that reports from branches showed that there had been a very satisfactory growtli in the membership of branches. Since last meeting three»new branches had been formed —at Pukahu, Fernhill, and Sherenden —and delegates from these branches were welcomed.

Reports on the proceedings of tbe ■divisional conference at Wellington were made to the meeting by Mrs. J. B. Campbell, Havelock North, and Mr. G. Forbes McHardy, Omakere, who represented the Waipawa electorate at the conference.

The selection of a candidate to contest the Waipawa seat in the interests of tbe National Party was deferred until March 30. Candidates offering for selection are Messrs. A. E. .lull, J. C. O’Reilly, and J. D. Ormon’d, jun. The meeting was thoroughly representative of all parts of the electorate and tbe strong spirit of unity manifest at the meeting promises well for the future.

A motion of confidence in the executive and thanks to the chairman was carried by acclamation. The delegates were later entertained to supper by members of the women’s branch.

WOMEN’S BRANCH OF NATIONAL PARTY Many New Members Enrolled At Dannevirke Dannevirke, November 25. A well-attended meeting of the women’s branch of the New Zealand National Party was held in Dannevirke this afternoon. Visitors were present from Weber. Pahiatua and Te Reliunga. and 'Woodville was represented by 20 members. Mrs. Livingstone gave an address on the recent conference in Wellington. Items were given by Mrs. Peebles and Miss Bailey, 'Woodville, and Miss Carlson, Dannevirke. It was reported to the meeting (hut the youth movement would be started in Dannevirke in the near future. As a result of the meeting many new members were enrolled.
