CURFEW ORDER RESCINDED
Improved Situation In Palestine Jerusalem, October 19. The curfew’ order has been rescinded, indicating that the authorities regard the situation as greatly improved. A new Arab Higher Committee is reported to be forming in Syria, where the presence of the Grand Mufti is perturbing the French authorities, who are expected to act vigorously if he engages in anti-British activities. BARRAGE OF ABUSE German Press On British Policy (Received October 20, 9.30 p.m.) Berlin, October 20. The German Press has opened a barrage of abuse of British policy in Palestine. The Nazi organ, “Volkischer Beobachter,” declares that the Union Jack waving victoriously over a scene of desolation and horror is Britain’s idea of world peace.
