PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING

Two Main Bouts on Saturday Two main, events of eight rounds and a professional preliminary of -three rounds comprise the wrestling programme to be presented by the New Zealand Wrestling and Athletic Club in the Show Stadium, John Street, on Saturday night. Frank Bronowicz, who created almost a sensation against AA'alker last week, will meet Steve Savage, and it Is fully expected that Savage, out to defend his premier position, will give Bronowicz all the trouble he wants. George Walker will wrestle Frank Judson, U.S.A. Judson met Plestina in Auckland last week, and the Auckland body is anxious for an immediate reappearance of Judson against AA’alker or Savage. AA’alker, who scales at 14st. 111 b., is iu better condition to-day than ever before, and gave a convincing demonstration of this in his last match with Bronowicz. To open proceedings Snowy Bartlett, claimed to be the wrestling “find" of the year, will meet the colourful Springbok, Peter A r enter, in the first, of a series of elimination contests for the junior heavy weight title of New Zealand. The Show Stadium has been remodelled, and is consequently warmer and more comfortable. MONDAY’S PROGRAMME At the AVellington Town Hall on Monday night there will be presented a return of one of the most spectacular and exciting matches seen in AVellington this season. The contestants will be “Lofty" Blomfield, who is assured of a great welcome whenever he enters the AA ellington ring, and Metros Kirilenko, the fast and unorthodox Cossack wrestler. Kirilenko’s display against Blomfield iu the previous bout created a fine Impression with the spectators, most of whom considered that he had been unfairly treated when he was given no more than a draw after breaking even in falls. During his many matches in other parts of the Dominion, in which be has built up a record which bears comparison with the best. Kirilenko has always pleased the crowds as well as giving his opponents all they wanted. There is no faster wrestler m the ring than the Russian, and New Zealand has seen few, if any, who are more scientific. He is a keen riyal ot Blomfield, who is always prepared to meet his opponents more than halfwaj. field is working tin to some big matches with McCready. Lewis, and others, and consequently will be out to give of Ins best. There will be amateur pgehmuiar.es from 8 o’clock.
