WANGANUI SOCCER

Match With Manawatu To-morrow Dominion Special Service. Wanganui, July 30. For the first time since 1933 a Soccer team representing the Manawatu association will visit Wanganui to-morrow for a representative fixture with the Wanganui asi'ociaton. In 1933 the Manawatu body ceased competing in the triangular contest for the Lawrence trophy, but in view of tile fact that Palmerston North now observes a halfholiday on Saturday, interest in the code has become strengthened in that centre. Representative matches arc expected to feature once more on the season’s programme. The match will be decided on Cook's Gardens, and aw a curtain-raiser, a junior fixture between Technical Old Boys and Rangers has been arranged. So far Rangers have not been defeated in the junior competition.
