ACCIDENT CLAIM
Jury Gives Verdict For Defendant A claim for £3OO general and £25/6/spccial damages was brought by Robert Cameron, manufacturer's representative, Lower Hutt, against J. O'Brien and Company, forwarding agents, Wellington, in the Supreme Court, Wellington, yesterday. A jury of four returned a. verdict .for defendant company. Mr. Justice Ostler presided. Mr. E. Hogg appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. -E. S. Perry for defendant company. The action arose from an accident on May 5 in which plaintiff was involved, when Edward John Prince, a lorrydriver employed by defendant company, drove a truck into Nielson’s Bond, Victoria Street. A collision occurred with plaintiff, whose left leg, foot and wrist, were injured, and his suit of clothes and pair of shoes damaged. Plaintiff was incapacitated until May 17, ami was still partially incapacitated. Plaintiff alleged negligent driving, which was denied by the defence, who alleged contributory negligence. The jury did not retire to consider its verdict.
