SLIP AT HAYWARDS

Rail-car Held Up A slip which came down some 300 yards north of Haywards last night held up the 6.4 p.m. rail-car from Wellington ho Masterton, necessitating the transfer of passengers to a train. Several suburban trains were also held up, the passengers being transferred to buses which took them as far as Upper Hutt. The slip occurred at a point on the line where the Public Works Department is engaged in widening the Western Hutt Road. No time was lost in commencing the work of cl< X ng the line and it was stated last mght by an official of the Railway Department that the work would be finished in Mme to allow the normal running of suburban trains to be resumed this morning.
