SENSATIONAL FINISH

Queensland Draws With New Zealand Hockey Team Brisbane, July 25. Tlie Queensland hockey representatives drew with New Zealand 2-alI. The teams were:— New Zealand: W. Sinellie, F. S. Clark, A. Mahoney, L. Watson, S. Robertson, D. Loder, T. Burtt, It. Brown, B. D. Duffield, R. Roughton, O. B. Day. Queensland: Watson, Barnes, Scott, Parkinson, Jack Mahoney (captain), Anstey, Schulte. Best, Handby, Bowdon, IV. Mahoney. Handby opened the scoring, Watson equalising, and the half-time score was one-all. Roughton put New Zealand in front, but Queensland pressed hard during flic last quarter of an hour, Scott scoring from a penalty bully in the last half-minute in a sensational finish. A more liberal application of the advantage rule may have resulted in more Queensland goals. Duffield, Roughton and Burtt were the best New Zealand forwards. The half-line was splendid, Robertson being brilliant and Clark the outstanding back. The goalie, Sinellie, saved many shots of rocket force brilliantly.
