CORONATION MEDAL

Hospital Patient a Recipient Bed-ridden since he was wounded in the Great War, Mr. E, H, Dalton, a patient in the Hobson Street Red Cross Hospital, was among those awarded Coronation Medals, and the presentation of his took place on Wednesday evening, in the presence of a number of visitors. The presentation was made by, the president of the Wellington branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association, Lieutenant-Colonel A. Cowles, who said that the award was a most popular one, He also handed to Mr. Dalton the warrant accompanying the medal, which read “Buckingham Palace. By command of His Majesty the King, the accompanying medal is forwarded to Mr. Ezra Hill Dalton to be worn in commemoration of Their Majesties’ Coronation, May 12, 1937.” The guests were received by Matron I. M. Mcßae, R.R.C. Among those present were Mrs. Cowles, Mr. A. H Bath, chairman of the Wellington Centre Great War Funds Committee, Captain and Mrs. M. S. Galloway, Mesdames Guthrie, Gunn, Craig, Fulton, Morley, Langley. Misses Reakes, Chalmers, Fitchett, Craig, Morley. Members of the Tin Hat Club Orchestra of the Wellington Returned Soldiers’ Association, conducted by Mr. P. Cole, supplied music; Mr. J. Osborne and Mr. Alston sang.
