MOSCOW-VOLGA CANAL
Release of Convicts to Mark Opening (Received July 16, 10.30 p.m.) Moscow, July 16. To commemorate the opening of the new SO-mile Moscow to Volga canal enabling ships to reach Moscow from the Baltic, Caspian and 'White Seas, the Soviet lias granted a free pardon to 55,000 convicts who have worked on the job for five years. The trade unions have been ordered to find them immediate employment.
