LABOURERS’ UNION

Small Attendance at Napier Meeting Dominion Special Service. Napier, May 10. A meeting of members of the Labourers’ Union, convened by the Labourers’ Federation iu Napier yesterday, was addressed by Messrs. L. Glover and P. M. Butler. A resolution to suspend all court actions aud allow the rank and file to decide issues was defeated by four votes to three. All present did not vote. Mr. Butler remarked on the apathy of members in not taking part in these meetings. An important question affecting all -members had been discussed by 20 people, although there were more than 700 members of the union. The Napier meeting itself cannot decide the issue, as meetings are to be held at Waipawa to-night, and at Dannevirke to-morrow night. A meeting already held in Hastings endorsed the policy of rank-and-file control.
