DISABLED MEN

Exhibition of Work An exhibition of the work of the Sailors and Soldiers’ Mutual Association—known as “Sasma”—will be held in Wellington for several days. The association is under the patronage of the Princess Royal. The show will be sponsored on Monday next by the Victoria League, on Tuesday by the various women’s clubs, and on Wednesday by the New Zealand Red Cross Society and members of the Navy League. It is said that the work is of an entirely different kind from that produced by the New Zealand disabled men, consisting mostly of needlework. It is of a very interesting character, and will no doubt, arouse a great deal of sympathetic interest. At the opening of the exhibition the Dominion president of the R.S.A., the Hon. W. Perry, M.L.C., and the Mayor of Wellington will be the speakers, the latter presiding at the meeting. Radiant Health Club. Mrs. J. K. Edie gave an interesting lecture entitled “Fragments of Verse and Prose,” to a large and appreciative audience at the Radiant Health and Psychology Club recently. Mrs. R. T. McLean presided. The lecturer gave excerpts and interpretations from the works of J. M. Barrie, Charles Dickens, John Masefield, R. C. Sheriff and other well-known writers. At the conclusion of the lecture Mrs. R. T. McLean, vicepresident, presented Mrs. Edie, on behalf of the club, with a posy of flowers in tones of blue and bronze. To remove grease stains from tables, rub lemon juice well in. All stains will disappear. Grated cheese and blackberry jam make a tasty and unusual filling for sandwiches. DEFINITE REDUCTION OF GOITRE SWELLINGS. Letters to the Thyrodone Proprietors from Miss Kathleen Sullivan, Invercargill, and Charles Cliften, ,107 Holly Road, Christchurch, state that Thyrodone is positively removing health-crushing goitres. “A real blessing and salvation,” says Mr. Cliften. Goitre, dangerous anremia, and nervousness, etc., yield to the organic iodine and sea minerals of Thyrodone. 4/6 bottle from C. H. Perrett, E. T. Saunders, Ltd., U.F.S. Dispensary, and other Chemists.—Advt.
