KARORI CRICKET CLUB SMOKE CONCERT
“Last year the Karori Cricket Club started on the bottom rung of the ladder in the Wellington senior competitions: this year they were further up that ladder; next year, we hope, they will, be on the top of the ladder.” said the vicepresident of the club, Mr. J. Gallagher, who was in the chair in the absence of th president, Mr. E. Edwards, at the annual smoke concert of the club, which was held last night.
Congratulations were extended to the Kilbirnie club on winning the senior championship. Among those present were Mr. J. 11. Phillipps, chairman, and Mr. A. Varney, secretary of the Wellington Cricket Association.
During the evening a musical programme, including community singing, was enjoyed.
