Rarotongans Decide on Adoption GOVERNMENT THANKED By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received April 16. 10.45 p.m.) Rarotonga, April 15. A representative meeting at Rarotonga passed the following resolution to-day adopting fruit control: “That this large and representative gathering of ail sections of the community in Rarotonga expresses confidence in the Government and the proposals made known by Mr. S. J. Smith (Secretary for the Cook Islands) for Government control of fruit and its disposal in New Zealand. The people are in full accord with the proposals and will support them and do all in their power to make the scheme a success. It also expresses thanks and appreciation for the consideration and assistance now offered.” ■There is considerable pressure fertile Government to take over bananas and tomatoes, but action has been postponed until organisation is completed. The outer islands have yet to adopt the proposals.
