Wellington.— The weather was fair but for the most part cloudy, with a moderate north-west wind prevailing. The minimum temperature on Thursday night was 49.1 deg., and the maximum yesterday was 62.1 deg. At 3.30 p.m. the temperature was 58deg. Rainfall at “The Dominion” building for 24 hours ended 11 p.m., nil. Total for the month, 2.68 in.; for the year, 9.96 in. Palmerston North. — Heavy rain in the morning, clearing in the afternoon, with mild temperatures and light westerly wind. Masterton. — Beautifully sunny day. Wanganui.— Fine but overcast; light westerly breeze. Napier and Hastings.— Fine, bright and mild, with a few scattered clouds and a light north-easterly breeze. Waipukurau.— Another perfect day with glorious sunshine. Auckland. —It was fine and clear in the morning with bright sunshine and practically no wind. The sky was cloudy in the afternoon. Temperatures were warm. Christchurch. — After a heavily overcast morning the sky cleared about midday, but a fresh easterly breeze kept the maximum temperature down to 58.1 deg. Dunedin. — There was a continuation in the morning of the dull conditions ' which have prevailed during the past few days, but at noon the sun broke through and conditions were warm during the afternoon. A sudden fall in the barometer was followed by a strong wind from the south-east with rain at night. The maximum temperature was 60deg.
