PEACE LITERATURE

Free Customs Entry Conceded The New Zealand Government has decided to admit free of Customs duty the peace literature disseminated by the New Historical Society of New York. The Acting-Minister of Customs, Hon. Mark Fagan, stated yesterday that, when the New York cable had been brought under his notice, he had given the matter urgent consideration. He had found that a strict interpretation of the. regulations made it necessary to impose a duty on the literature of the society, but, as he considered that the material was of purely an educational nature, he had decided to use his discretion and admit the society’s literature free of duty.
