LEGISLATORS FIGHT
Heat in Rhode Island Debate (Received April 3, 12.30 a.iu.i 3 Providence (Rhode Is.), April 2. Members of the Rhode Island House of Representatives engaged in a fight as the result' of a heated debate on a measure to place the administration of the Police, Fire and Public Works Departments in the hands of a commission, thus depriving the mayor of control. The Bill was torn in half during the riot, and one member plunged head-first over his desk, recovered the pieces and carried them to the Speaker. The Governor summoned the State and City Police, who stopped the battle, and an adjournment followed.
