DEPUTY TOWN CLERK OF WELLINGTON

Mr. M. S. Duckworth Appointed The appointment of Mr. M. S. Duckworth to the position of deputy town clerk of ’Wellington, a position which has been vacant since the appointment of Mr. B. O. Peterson as city treasurer, was announced yesterday by the town clerk, Mr. E. I’. Norman. Mr. Duckworth commenced Ide experience in the traffic manager's office of the New Zealand Railways in Dunedin in 1916, and was transferred to tlie railways head office in July, .1921. lie was in the head office for some six months, and was then appointed secretary to tlie general manager, then Mr. R. W. MeVilly, continuing in that capacity under successive administrations until he resigned to take up the position of committee clerk to the Wellington City Council. He has also acted as secretary to the City and Suburban Water and Highways Boards, and to the Sinking Fund Commissioner.
