Complaints Received By Petone Police PROSECUTIONS MAY FOLLOW Complaints have been received by the police at Petone of instances of boys under tl.a age of 16 being in the possession of air-guns, and there is a likelihood that inquiries will be followed by prosecutions. In one case which has come under the notice of the police a boy was hit on the head with a slug fired from an air-rifle by another lad. Windows have been 1 . ken in the Gospel Hall, and the holes indicate that the damage was done by airgun ammunition. It is understood there is good reason to believe that boys were also the culprits in this ease. It is a breach of the law for boys under the age of 16 years to curry a firearm, and in several cases which have come under notice the lads are as young as 11 years. It is also pointed out that shopkeepers by selling tirearms to boys under 16 commit a breach.
