Improved Status Urged

Means for raising the status ot' women in domestic service were discussed at the Labour Party conference yesterday.

Several women delegates spoke of Hie urgent need for making domestic service more attractive and raising it to a more respected place among the occupations. The conference recommended to the Government that institutions be established in the four main centres for training domestic workers, and that an investigation be made with a view to giving them a higher standing in the community. ■
