ELEVEN MONTHS’ FIGURES

A further substantial increase in Post Office revenue is shown in the figures for eleven months ended February last. The Postmaster-General, Hon. F. Jones, said last evening that there had been an all-round increase in the department’s services, and that the aggregate gain was £298,019. The comparative figures under the main headings are as follows:—-

The increase in each of the four main classes was;—Postages, £111.936; telegraphs, £21,a93; tolls, £04,600; telephones’, £81,735. The total revenue from all classes was £3,500,287, as compared with £3.202,268 for the previous eleven months.
